Muktadesh Desk: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a 28-year-old youth in connection with the recent cocktail attack in the capital. Initial investigation has identified him as a member of the banned Chhatra League.
The suspect is being questioned in connection with several incidents, including the cocktail explosions at St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Joseph School premises in Kakrail. The DMP arrested him on Monday.
The DMP has intensified operations across the city in coordination with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to arrest everyone involved in this heinous and cowardly violence. Security has been beefed up at all churches and religious institutions of all religions in the capital.
The interim government reiterates its firm commitment to preserving inter-religious unity and communal harmony. Any attempt to disrupt religious coexistence will be met with the utmost force of the law.
