Muktadesh Desk: All government secondary schools in the country, all private secondary schools located in metropolitan and district headquarters upazilas, and schools located in other upazila headquarters will also admit students from class one to class nine through a lottery for the next academic year (2026).
This decision will be effective for schools under the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (DSE). This information was revealed by the department sources on Monday.
DSE sources said that online admission applications will start from November 21 and will continue until December 5. The possible date of the lottery is December 14. This lottery will be held digitally with the help of mobile operator Teletalk.
According to the decision, head teachers will be able to upload online registration and vacancy information to the software from November 12 to 19.
Every year, the admission process for the next year starts at the end of the year. Classes start in January after admission. At one time, only class one admission was done through a lottery. But due to the coronavirus infection, students were admitted to all classes in schools through a lottery in the 2021 academic year. Since then, the work of admitting students through lottery has been ongoing.
