Muktdesh Desk: BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed said that there is no scope for issuing orders without a presidential ordinance to implement the July Charter. And if the government issues an order, it will not become law.
He said these things at a press conference of the BNP Standing Committee at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan, the capital, on Tuesday at around 12:15 pm.
He said that if the government takes any decision outside the July Charter, the signatory parties are not obliged to accept it.
Salahuddin Ahmed said that there is no situation in the country where the president can issue an order. Because it is not in the constitution. Now, if they want to name a notification as an order and if it does not have legal status, then the government can publish it through a notification. But that will not become law.
At that time, another member of the party’s Standing Committee, Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, said that the statements of some of the government’s advisors are misleading and amount to ignoring the decision taken by the consensus commission.
