Sports Desk: West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 16 runs in the first T20I of the series at the Birshreshtha Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chittagong on Monday. The Caribbeans took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Batting first, West Indies scored 35 runs without a wicket in the 6 overs of the power play. In the end, they set a target of 166 runs for Bangladesh. Chasing that run, Bangladesh went the opposite way in the power play. Bangladesh scored 42 runs in the first 6 overs but lost 4 wickets.
Tanjid (15), Saif (8), Liton (5) and Shamim Hossain (1) were out. Nurul Hasan Sohan was also bowled for 5 individual runs. In that, the team lost 5 wickets and feared defeat after scoring 57 runs.
