Sports Desk: The Bangladesh Cricket Conference was held at a hotel in the capital last Sunday and Monday. BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul has apologized for the unfortunate incident that occurred during the closing ceremony of the second and last day of the conference and the boycott of the press conference by the media personnel as a result of it.
Monday was also the 25th anniversary of Bangladesh’s debut Test match. The BCB invited the media personnel at 4 pm that day. But the media personnel were not allowed to enter the venue long after 4 pm. No message was given by the BCB. Two days after the incident, Aminul apologized in a video message today.
The BCB President said, “An unfortunate incident occurred on November 10 (Monday). We organized a program on the closing ceremony of the second day of the Bangladesh Cricket Conference and the 25th anniversary of Bangladesh getting Test status. I myself invited you there. Although it took some time to prepare and finish this program. But when I came out, I saw that you were not given due respect and that even after inviting you, we failed in the job of the Cricket Board or me to protect the invitation. We apologize to you.’
Bulbul also announced an investigation into the matter, ‘I promise you, we will investigate why this failure occurred due to any of our departments and take appropriate action.’
Mentioning the reason for the apology, the BCB President said, ‘I apologize to you because you are one of the biggest partners in the development and progress of cricket. We made a mistake. We will try not to make such mistakes again in the future. You will be by our side. Together, we will take cricket forward. I hope you will be well and not only cooperate with us as you have always cooperated with us, but will also be a part of this journey. I wish you all the best.’
