Muktdesh Desk: Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed has said that the announcement of the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election may be affected due to the case regarding the delimitation of the boundaries.
He told reporters at the Election Commission office in Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday.
He also said that there are about 30 cases regarding the delimitation and the complexity of the boundaries may affect the election schedule.
In response to a question whether the commission will appeal the 4 parliamentary seats in Bagerhat or not, he said that it will be decided after receiving the court’s verdict.
Akhtar Ahmed said that candidates will not be able to build any structures that create obstacles to movement during the election campaign.
Stating that the government has not yet informed the Election Commission about the referendum, he added that the commission will hold a dialogue with political parties from next Thursday. However, the EC wants to hold a dialogue with all registered political parties.
