Muktadesh Desk: Leaders of various political parties including BNP and Jamaat have joined the ‘International Khatme Nabuwat Mahasammelen’ at the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
The religious gathering officially began at 9 am on Saturday (November 15). It will continue until 2 pm. Scholars from five countries including Saudi Arabia, India, and Pakistan have joined it.
This is the first time that the International Khatme Nabuwat Mahasammelen is being held, although sporadically before. This mega-conference is being organized under the initiative of the Sammilit Khatme Nabuwat Parishad.
It was seen on the spot that BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed came to Suhrawardy Udyan around 12 noon on Saturday to participate in the ‘International Khatme Nabuwat Mahasammelen’.
On the stage are – Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islam Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Maulana Shah Muhibullah Babunagari, President of Jamiat-e-Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh Maulana Ubaidullah Faruk, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Abdul Malek, and top scholars and politicians of the country.
A huge crowd has been seen at Suhrawardy Udyan since Saturday morning for the conference. Lakhs of people from different parts of the country reached the conference venue on foot, in their own vehicles, buses and metro rail to attend the conference organized by the Sammilit Khatme Nabuwat Parishad.
In addition, security has been tightened around Suhrawardy Udyan for the conference. A team of volunteers from the ‘Khatme Nabuwat Preservation Committee Bangladesh’ is maintaining order on the roads.
The Khatme Nabuwat Preservation Committee Bangladesh is overseeing this grand conference. It is being presided over by Maulana Abdul Hamid (Pir Saheb, Madhupur), the convener of the Sammilit Khatme Nabuwat Parishad and the Ameer of the Khatme Nabuwat Preservation Committee Bangladesh.
