On the same day, a referendum was held in California regarding the ratification of a constitutional amendment to redeline the state’s boundaries. Where Democrats were in favor of redelineation and Republicans were against. The ‘yes’ vote won in this referendum, NBC News reported. Due to such results of the referendum, Republicans are likely to lose at least five seats in the 2026 midterm elections.
Regarding the loss of Republicans, CNN said in a report that voters in these elections held in four important states have created a kind of storm in favor of Democrats. A year after being elected president for a second term, Trump saw his opposition party win. This is an expression of voters’ dissatisfaction with him.
