Muktadesh Desk: Bangladesh needs honest people in politics, so Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, has called for honest people to build a career in politics. He made this call as the chief guest at the inauguration of the day-long ‘Job Fair’ at East West University in Aftabnagar, the capital, on Saturday (November 15).
The energy advisor said, ‘I advise students to take the initiative to do something themselves instead of just chasing jobs. In the current world, the demand for degrees has decreased, the demand for skills has increased. What you can do is more important than what degree you have.’
He urged the youth to become wealthy through production and innovation instead of becoming wealthy through lobbying or taking advantage.
Barrister Nihad Kabir, former president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Dhaka, was the special guest of the event, saying, ‘‘Job Fair’’ is a great opportunity for students to build a career of their choice. Here you have the opportunity to know more about your preferred institution.’
Professor Dr. Mohammad Farashuddin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of East West University and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, said, ‘To reduce poverty and inequality in the country, the government must focus on creating small and medium entrepreneurs. Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of East West University, said that they have organized this ‘Job Fair’ to establish a link between industry and academia. Here, not only students are applying to the institutions of their choice, but the institutions are also able to find graduates of their choice.
