Muktadesh Desk: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has withdrawn the expulsion and suspension orders against 17 leaders across the country on charges of violating party discipline and activities against party principles and ideals. This information was given in a press release signed by the party’s Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday (November 13).
The release said that based on the application of the expelled and suspended leaders and the opinions of the senior party leaders concerned, their expulsion and suspension orders were withdrawn and their membership was restored.
Among those who have regained their membership are Siddhirganj Thana BNP General Secretary under Narayanganj District Md. Iqbal Hossain, Gacha Thana BNP General Secretary under Gazipur Metropolitan Md. Kamal Uddin, Birol Upazila BNP former vice-president under Dinajpur District Md. Sadeq Ali, former Women’s Affairs Secretary Mosa. Firoza Begum Sona, Habiganj District BNP member Mohibul Islam Shahin.
The list also includes General Secretary of Chanchra Union BNP No. 4 of Tajumuddin Upazila under Bhola District Md. Ibrahim Howlader, Former Member of Chapainawabganj District BNP Md. Babar Ali Biswas, Former General Secretary of Bholahat Thana BNP Md. Anwarul Islam, Convener of Zorarganj Thana Jubo Dal under Chittagong North District Sirajul Islam, Former Member Secretary of Mirsarai Upazila BNP Gazi Nizam Uddin, Convener of Upazila Jubo Dal Md. Kamal Uddin, Fatikchhari Upazila BNP member Md. Shahidul Islam Azam, President of Subarnachar Upazila Jubo Dal under Noakhali District Belal Hossain Sumon, Subarnachar Upazila BNP member Md. Jamal Uddin Gazi, Former President of Nangalkot Upazila BNP under Comilla South District Md. Mazharul Islam.
In addition, Habiganj district’s Baniachong Upazila BNP President Mojibul Hossain Maruf and General Secretary Nakib Fazle Rabbi Makhon were suspended from all levels of party membership, including primary membership, for activities that went against the party’s policies and ideals. Their suspensions have also been withdrawn on appeal.
