Muktadesh Desk: Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, ‘India never wants any conflict with Bangladesh. We do not want any tension with the neighboring country.’
In an exclusive interview with Rahul Joshi, Editor-in-Chief of Indian media ‘Network-18’ Group on Friday (November 7), Rajnath Singh expressed his views on the India-Bangladesh conflict.
However, the Defense Minister clearly said, ‘India can face any kind of challenge, although we aim to maintain good relations with our neighbors. So whenever Dr. Muhammad Yunus makes a comment, he should speak thoughtfully.’
Rahul Joshi asked a question and said that Dr. Yunus gave the map to the Pakistani general and made various statements. In response, Rajnath said, ‘The head of the interim government of Bangladesh should be careful in making comments.’
Recently, ‘Professor Muhammad Yunus gifted a flag with a distorted map of Bangladesh including the northeastern region of India to the top military officer of Pakistan’ – such a report was published in the Indian media.
However, the press wing of the chief advisor has rejected such a report as ‘completely false and imaginary’. The government further said that the Pakistani general was gifted a book of graffiti, not a distorted map.
After the fall of the government of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina due to the mass uprising of students and the public in Bangladesh on August 5, 2024, relations between India and Bangladesh cooled after the fall of the government of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina left the country and took refuge in India.
On the other hand, Professor Yunus took charge as the chief advisor to the country’s interim government. But since coming to power, it is known from various media sources that several of Muhammad Yunus’ comments have not been well received by India.
