Muktadesh Desk: Police have disrupted the pen-surrender program of government primary school assistant teachers in Shahbagh to demand three points of demand. On Saturday afternoon, when the teachers came to Shahbagh to hold the pen-surrender program, they were stopped by the police.
At that time, the teachers were dispersed by the police’s sound grenades and water cannons. After throwing the sound grenades, the teachers dispersed and took up positions in the Dhaka University area.
Bangladesh Primary School Assistant Teachers’ Association President Mohammad Shamsuddin Masud said, as per the previous announcement, we started the march towards Shahbagh to hold the pen-surrender program. Before reaching Shahbagh intersection, the police stopped the teachers by setting up barricades on the road. The teachers were chanting slogans to demand their demands while taking up positions there. Suddenly, the police threw sound grenades. Many people, including some of our teachers, were injured in this.
Earlier, after noon, these primary school teachers marched from the Central Shaheed Minar towards Shahbagh to demand three points of demand. Later, the police stopped them.
The three-point demands of the assistant teachers are – salary fixation in the 10th grade, resolution of the problem of higher grades on completion of 10 years and 16 years, and 100% departmental promotions.
