Gaibandha: Three people were lynched to death in Gobindaganj, Gaibandha on suspicion of being cow thieves. The incident took place on Saturday night in Nasirabad village of Katabari union of the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Police Station Bulbul Islam confirmed this.
Locals claim that all the deceased were members of an organized cow thief gang from Shibganj upazila of neighboring Bogra district.
Earlier, on Saturday, a man named Abdus Salam (50) was lynched to death in Sundarganj, Gaibandha on suspicion of being a cow thief. The incident took place in Belka Nawabganj village of Belka union of Sundarganj upazila.
The deceased Abdus Salam is the son of Omed Ali of Ramdakua village of the same union. Salam was mentally unstable. Police have arrested a woman named Dulali Begum (43) on suspicion of being involved in the incident. The arrested Dulali is the wife of Abdul Gani Mia of Belka Nawabganj village.
