Muktadesh Desk: A political party wants to use Islam for election and political purposes to bring trouble to the nation. Especially, it wants to harm Islam, said BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed.
He made this comment at the Azmat-e-Sahaba Maha Sammelan program organized by Qasemi Parishad at the central Eidgah Maidan in Narayanganj city on Saturday (November 1) afternoon.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, “Sheikh Hasina’s government was an Islamophobic government in Bangladesh. They were an anti-Muslim government. The people of this country have seen the politics of Awami League. It is apolitical, anti-Islam politics, politics of torture of scholars, anti-scholars politics, anti-Muslim politics they have done. How they left, how their politics ended in this country, history is a witness.” So in Bangladesh, we try to conduct politics in such a way that the so-called apolitical culture of Awami League is eradicated through our good ideology.’
He further said, ‘We have noticed that recently a political party wants to use Islam for election purposes and political purposes to bring trouble to the nation. Especially, it wants to harm Islam. That is why there needs to be more and more Azmat Sahaba conferences in Bangladesh. We have to be careful of those who want to create sects and sedition and create confusion among the Muslims of Bangladesh. I came here to listen and especially to give you this invitation. We have to stay away from those who want to create confusion among us and use Islam to create that confusion.’
Salauddin Ahmed said, ‘We should not take Islam to that place. Where it can harm our religion for political reasons. Let us all remain united. We need to learn from the previous fascist government.’
The chief guest at the event was Mufti Mainuddin Ahmed, son of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Ameer Allama Shah Muhibullah Babunagri.
Mufti Monir Hossain Qasemi presided over the event, and other attendees included Narayanganj District BNP Convener Professor Mamun Mahmud, Joint Convener Masukul Islam Rajib, Metropolitan BNP Convener Shakhawat Hossain Khan, Member Secretary Abu Al Yusuf Khan Tipu, Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Anwar Hossain Anu, BNP nomination aspirant for Narayanganj-5 constituency Masuduzzaman, Abu Zafar Ahmed Babul, Hefazat Nayeb-e-Ameer Junayed Al Habib, Senior Nayeb-e-Ameer Khalil Ahmed Qurayshi.
Hefazat-e-Islam Amir Shah Muhibullah Babunagri was supposed to attend the conference as the chief guest, but he did not attend due to illness.
