Muktadesh Desk: ‘Shapla Kali’ has been added to the list of symbols of the Election Commission (EC). The EC added this symbol on Thursday (October 30).
It said that the Election Commission, by virtue of the powers conferred by Article 94 of the Constitution of 1972, has further amended the ‘Election Conduct Rules, 2008’ as follows.
It also said, ‘Instead of sub-rule (1) of rule 9 of the above rules, the following sub-rule (1) shall be substituted. Subject to the other provisions of these rules, any contesting candidate may be allotted any one of the symbols mentioned below, subject to availability, except the symbol suspended under clause 20 of Article 20.’
