Muktadesh Desk: The German Embassy in Dhaka has urged visa applicants not to fall for the trap of fraudsters. A warning was posted on the embassy’s official Facebook page at 9 am on Thursday (October 30).
The embassy said that recently some unscrupulous individuals and organizations have been trying to contact visa applicants by posing as embassy officials or representatives. To prevent these frauds, the embassy has advised applicants to check the sender’s email address.
The post said, “Please check the email address carefully before sending any information. If you are not sure that the email is really from the embassy or the Consular Service Portal, then contact us through the contact form on the embassy’s website.”
The embassy also said that only automatic messages are sent from the Consular Service Portal, which informs whether a new message has arrived. However, these emails do not provide detailed information regarding the visa application.
