Muktadesh Desk: The price of gold has decreased again in the country’s market. The price of the best quality or 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 3,674 to Tk 2,04,283.
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of the Bangladesh Jewelers’ Association (BAJUS) decided to reduce this price in a meeting on Monday (October 27). This information was later given in a notification signed by the committee’s chairman Masudur Rahman.
BAJUS said that this price has been reduced in view of the decrease in the price of acid gold (paka gold) in the local market. The new price will be effective from Tuesday (October 28).
According to the new price, the price of 21-carat gold is Tk 1,94,999, the price of 18-carat gold is Tk 1,67,145, and the traditional gold bhori will be sold at Tk 1,38,842.
Along with the price of gold, the price of silver has also been reduced. A 22-carat bhori of silver will be sold for 4,246 taka, a 21-carat bhori of silver for 4,047 taka, a 18-carat bhori of silver for 3,476 taka and traditional silver for 2,601 taka.
Earlier, the price of gold was reduced on Sunday (October 26). On Sunday, the price of good quality or 22-carat gold was reduced by a maximum of 1,039 taka per bhori, setting the price at 2 lakh 7,957 taka. This price is effective from Monday.
