Muktdesh Desk: The European Union (EU) has supported the ongoing democratic transition process in Bangladesh under the interim government. It has also reiterated its confidence in the country’s leadership and encouraged political parties to participate constructively in the electoral process.
The EU said in its Facebook post, “We support Bangladesh’s move towards democratic elections under the interim government.”
It also said, “We welcome the leadership of the Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, in the context of organizing participatory, free and fair elections in February.”
Calling on political parties to act responsibly, the EU said, “We encourage political parties to participate constructively in the next phase.”
