Muktadesh Desk: The interim government has reiterated its strong commitment to preserving inter-religious unity and communal harmony. The government has said that any attempt to disrupt religious coexistence will be met with the utmost force of law.
The press wing of the chief advisor highlighted the government’s position in a press release on Monday.
The release said that the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested a 28-year-old youth in connection with the recent cocktail attack in the capital. Initial investigation has identified him as a member of the banned student organization Chhatra League.
The suspect is being questioned in connection with multiple incidents, including the cocktail explosions at St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Joseph School premises in Kakrail.
The DMP has intensified operations across the city in coordination with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to arrest everyone involved in this heinous and cowardly attack. In addition, security measures have been further strengthened at all churches and places of worship of various religions in the capital.
