Muktadesh Desk: The Election Commission has officially announced the schedule for the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) elections. The JUCSU elections are going to be held on December 22.
The schedule was announced by Chief Election Professor Dr. Mustafa Hasan at 2:30 pm on Wednesday (November 5) at the university’s teachers’ lounge.
According to the schedule, the draft voter list will be published on November 6; objections to the voter list will be accepted and resolved from November 9 to November 11; the final voter list will be published on November 12; nomination papers will be distributed from November 13 to November 17; nomination papers can be submitted on November 17 and 18; nomination papers will be selected on November 19 and 20; the initial candidate list will be published on November 23; objections to the candidates will be accepted and resolved from November 24 to November 26.
In addition, dope tests will be conducted on November 27 to 30; the final candidate list will be published on December 3; nomination papers can be withdrawn from December 4 to 8; the list of withdrawn candidates will be published on November 9; Candidates can campaign from December 9 to 19; polling will be held on December 22; counting of votes will be done on the same day and results will be announced by December 23.
After announcing the schedule, Chief Election Commissioner Professor Dr. Mustafa Hasan told reporters, “The election date has been set for December 22. Voting will continue from 9 am to 3 pm on December 22.”
Regarding the announcement of the results, he said, “Counting will begin immediately after the votes are counted. The results will be announced the next day (December 23) after counting the votes.”
