Muktdesh Desk: BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has said that the National Consensus Commission has recommended disagreement at the last minute. He told reporters after a meeting with the legal advisor at the secretariat on Tuesday evening.
Salahuddin Ahmed said, I came to discuss the sub-section of Section 20 of the RPO. Which is several provisions including the issue of symbols. Although we agreed with everything, we did not agree on the issue of symbols. Although the hearing was passed, our concerns were not taken into account. So we have written a letter. We hope that in the interest of multi-party democracy, we need to have our own symbols. We have demanded that the previous provisions be maintained.
He said, I have to thank the Consensus Commission for the repeal of the July Charter. Apart from the proposals that have been made, there are many additions beyond our advice.
He also said, New subject addition: The issue of constitutional reform has been imposed. The consensus commission did not discuss the election for the National Assembly, which is the Constitutional Reform Council.
The BNP standing committee leader also said that it is ridiculous to mention 270 days. The consensus commission has made some recommendations to get rid of it. Is a fair election possible under this government? In response to the question, he said that the time has not come to say that yet.
