Muktadesh Desk: Eight like-minded parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami, have demanded that the revised RPO be maintained. The parties have said that they will not accept anything new in this regard. At the same time, they have announced to submit a memorandum to the chief advisor on Thursday with five-point demands and to hold a mass procession program in Dhaka.
The program was announced at a joint press conference held at the Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis office in Purana Paltan in the capital on Monday afternoon. Earlier, an emergency meeting of the eight party top leaders was held there. After the meeting, the Amir of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Maulana Mamunul Haque, announced the new program at the press conference.
At that time, the Amir and Charmonai Pir Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Nayeb-e-Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, Secretary General of Khelafat Majlis Dr. Ahmed Abdul Quader and other leaders were present.
Maulana Mamunul Haque said that our movement will continue with the five-point demands. We will continue our movement simultaneously with our respective parties to implement other demands including issuing an order to implement the July Charter, holding a public vote before the national elections, and creating a label playing field in the elections.
He said that eight parties will gather at Paltan intersection at 11 am on November 6 (Thursday). From there, a memorandum will be handed over to the Chief Advisor with a public procession. He said that if these demands are not accepted, a rally will be held in the capital later.
At that time, Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said, we welcome the decision taken by the Advisory Council regarding the implementation of the July Charter. We hope that the Chief Advisor will play the role of referee without taking any bias. Because if the July Charter is not implemented, there is no point in holding a referendum. He considers the demand to hold a referendum and national elections on the same day a conspiracy.
Charmonai Pir said that we want elections in February based on the July Charter. An order must be issued to implement the July Charter. He called for everyone to sit together and solve these problems.
