Muktadesh Desk: The low pressure area in the east-central Bay of Bengal may move north-northwestwards along the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast. Due to the threat of gale force winds, the country’s two seaports have been asked to raise local warning signal number three.
This information was given in a weather warning signed by Meteorologist Kho. Hafizur Rahman on Tuesday (November 4).
It said that a low pressure area is prevailing near the east-central Bay of Bengal and the adjacent Myanmar coast. It may move north-northwestwards along the Myanmar-Bangladesh coast. Due to this, deep convection clouds are forming in the northeastern Bay of Bengal area.
Gusty or gale force winds may blow over Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, northeastern Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas. In such a situation, the seaports of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar have been asked to raise local warning signal number three.
At the same time, fishing boats and trawlers in the northeastern Bay of Bengal have been asked to approach the coast with caution until further notice.
