Sports Desk: The National Sports Council has appointed Rubaba Daula, a non-corporate figure and women’s sports organizer, as the BCB director. On Monday (November 3), the National Sports Council formally nominated her as a councilor and sent a letter to the BCB.
She will attend the BCB board meeting to be held today.
Rubaba Daula is the second female director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). She is coming to the board after being nominated by the National Sports Council. Rubaba is known as an entrepreneur and sports organizer. Earlier, Ishfaq Ahmed became the BCB director after being nominated by the NSC.
However, the NSC decided to withdraw her nomination soon after being elected due to her active politics of the Awami League. The NSC has appointed Rubaba as the director in her place.
Rubaba was previously the president of the Bangladesh Badminton Federation from 2009-2015. She was the chief communications officer and chief marketing officer of Grameenphone for 11 years. At that time, Grameenphone was the sponsor of the Bangladesh national team.
Rubaba’s maternal uncle is artist Kamrul Hasan and popular Nazrul Sangeet artist Firoza Begum is her maternal aunt. She has done BBA and MBA from Dhaka University. She has higher degrees from Stockholm School of Economics and London Business School.
