Muktdesh Desk: The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has cancelled the gazettes of 128 people listed as July fighters of the mass uprising. A notification has been issued cancelling the gazettes of 23 people due to duplicity and 105 people who were not injured or not involved in the movement.
This information was given in a press release of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Wednesday (October 29).
The release stated that the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs cancelled the gazettes of some July fighters in the gazette list published by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs as not injured or not involved in the movement and their gazettes were cancelled as multiple gazettes were published in the names of some of them.
Based on the recommendation of the district committee, the gazettes of a total of 128 people including 21 people from Mymensingh division, 27 people from Sylhet division, 39 people from Chittagong division, 9 people from Khulna division, 3 people from Rangpur division, 14 people from Dhaka division, 13 people from Rajshahi division, and two people from Barisal division have been cancelled. Of them, 23 people have had their gazettes cancelled due to duplicity.
The press release said that legal action will be taken against those who fraudulently enlisted as July fighters and those who helped them enlist and illegally embezzled government funds.
